Looking forward to 2015!
Hi everyone,
As you may have noticed, there hasn’t been much to report since the last newsletter.
France followed Tenerife but I didn’t get in that one due to it being a limited field. I was only 1st reserve and no one dropped out!!
After France was the LET Access Series tournament at Stoke by Nayland in October. I went back there as defending champion which was special. I played pretty good for the first two rounds and made the cut in a decent position. However, the final round seemed one too many for me so it wasn’t quite the finish I was hoping for.
I decided not to go to China and India as last time I went to India in 2010, I didn’t enjoy it that much! This decision was made easier by the fact that I have retained my tour card for next year.
I was really hoping to play in Dubai this week but I was only 4th reserve so it’s really disappointing that I’m not out there competing! Hopefully next year I’ll finally make the field!
Playing back out on tour this year has been great and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve learned loads about myself and my game and can take away lots of positives. I also realised that I need to make my swing more consistent, so I’ve been working hard on that for the past few weeks.
It already feels better and more solid, plus the strength work I’ve been doing is really making a difference. The amount of golf I will be playing next year, I need to make sure that I do everything possible to stay injury free and give myself the best chance of being fit and successful.
Having retained my tour card by finishing inside the top 80, it means that for the first time in 3/4 years, I don’t have to go to Qualifying School in Morocco! It’s nice to actually be able to start the swing tweaks this early ready for next year and enjoy the build up to Christmas! I know my mind coach, Karen, who has accompanied me there the last couple of years, is relieved and very happy!
I must say a huge thank you to my team! Karen, Louise and Andy have all been brilliant and have helped me so much in many ways. I look forward to working together again in 2015!
Thank you also to Cowdray Park GC for their continued amazing support and encouragement.
To all my great friends and family who support me through the ups and downs, you’re awesome and I thank you very much. Likewise, everyone else who follows my journey and backs me.
My sponsors Belville Rodair/OIA Global have been brilliant and I couldn’t have played on tour this year if it wasn’t for their financial backing, so the biggest thank you of all goes to them! I would also like to thank One Up Golf for their clothing support this year – such a nice company…
That just leaves me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Successful New Year!
